Dear Family and Friends,

As we approach the Christmas season and the beginning of a new year, what better time to send you an update

on the Lullaby Project.

Since we were founded in 2013 we have delivered over 2,000 baby blankets, assembled 500 birthing kits for Brother's Brother Foundation, send blankets to 10 US charities and donated to groups that have taken baby blankets to 27 different countries.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support and generosity in enabling as to make and send so many blankets to Mom and babies in need.  We especially want to thank our husbands, Nitin and Bil for their never-ending support and love.

Wishing you and your families a wonderful holiday season with peace and love in the coming year.

Thank you once again.     Love, Cindy and Seema

                                                                                                                                                             May, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,

The Lullaby Project is still going strong and has grown significally since our first group of blankets were delivered in

February, 2013.  Over the past several years we have made/collected and delivered a little over 1500 blankets.

There are so many people to thank but we especially want to mention the Fairfax Presbyterian Sewing Group of Fairfax,

Virginia who has adpoted the Lullaby Project as one of the groups they support.  We also received blankets from a sewing class at Bishop Ireton High School and from some teachers and parents fom the Little Acorn Patch Pre-school, both located in Northern Virginia.  We have been lucky and thankful to have so much support.

We continue to give blankets to both local and inernational groups, such as Health Works, Our Daily Bread, The Army Community Services at Fort Belvior and Adagio Health just to name a few.

We also continue to assemble Birthing Kits for the Brother's Brother Foundation which in turn delivers the kits to Third World countries.  This past year many of the kits have gone to the African countries affected by the Ebola outbreak.

Again, we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us.  Should you have any material, blankets (old or new) thread or even want to knit a baby cap or blanket it would be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want more information.

All the best, Love, Cindy and Seema

Dear Family and Friends,

December is always a special time to reflect and be thankful for our many blessing.  It's now been two years since we wrote our first newsletter announcing our desire to make/collect baby blankets and donate to babies and children near and far.

As of this date, we have donated over 1,100 blankets and have a few more deliveries to make before the end of the year.

Locally, we have donated to the Naomi Project, SOME (So Others Might Eat), the U.S. Army Community Services at Fort Belvior, Health Works in Herndon and Moblie Hope in Lessburg, Virginia, plus a variety of clinics and shelters.

Internationally, we have sent blankets to Haiti, Honduras, South Sudan, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, DR Congo, Somalia, India, Armenia, Bolivia and Turkey.

We have been blessed to have many connections that allow us to get our blankets to where they are most needed.

There are so many people to thank that at this point it is almost impossible to list out everyone.  It's been well over 100 people who have sewed blankets, knitted or crocheted baby hats, donated fabric or old blankets or dleivered blanketd for us.  It has been such a labor of love and we are very thankful to have connected with so many people that continue to help us make this all happen.

Again, thank you for your help and support.

May your life be blessesd with good health and peace in 2015.

Love Cindy and Seema

Dear Family and Friends,

It is so hard to believe that this is our fourth newsletter from the Lullaby Projet and after a year and a half we are still going strong.  As we wrote at the end of 2013, we had a successful year making 323 blankets going to 6 different countries plus many blankets going to metro Washington, D.C. area organizations.  Our goal for 2014 is 500 blankets.  To date we have delivered 228 blankets.

The support we have received from so many of you is hard to put into words.  From sewing, donating materials and thread, to hosting a sewing event, or kniitting caps.  Together we feel like we have really helped some mothers in need and their babies.

This year we have several new partners:

              - U.S. Army Community Services at Fort Belvior, Virginia

             - Health Works of Herndon, Virginia

             - Midwives from Haiti, out of Richmond, Virginia

We are continuing to donate blankets to:

            - The Naomi Project

            - So Others Might Eat (SOME)

            - Various shelters in Prince William and Culpepper Countries, Virginia

            - The Northern Virginia Medical Briadge service Honduras

            - Birthing kits for Brothers Brother Foundation

We like developing these partnerships as not only do we get a good understanding of what different groups need but we also have confidence that the blankets are getting to those in need.  And it is so much help to see the pictures of little babies wrapped in a blanket from the Lullaby Project.  It just doesn't get any better.

As we move into the second half of 2014, again we want to express our true appreciation for everyone who is helping us.  This wouldn't be happening without the help of so many of you.  Thank you!

All the best for a wonderful summer.

Take care

                                                                                                            May, 2013

Dear Family and Friends,

About 6 months ago I wrote to you about The Lullaby Project and my need for fabric and blankets.

Thanks to your generous donations of the needed materials, as well as your good wishes, the initial project has been successful.  Your kindness and support were very much appreciated. Women from ages 14 to 90 have helped with this endeavor.  It has really been a great joy to connect with so many caring people.

I am pleased to annouce that I now have a partner, Seema Wadhwa, a friend and former co-worker at Inova Health System.  Seema has joined me in a joint mission to make blankets for children.  Thanks to her, we now have an email address lullabyproject1@gmail.com and a web page

(hold ctrl and click)  http://lullabyproject1.wix.com./lullabyproject

We are pleased to annouce that to date we have made and distributed 70 blankets.  Blankets have been delivered to an orphanage in India and a medical clinic in Hatit.  We have donated blankets to those in need in Prince William and Fairfax Counties via shelters and churches.  We have also formed a parntership with The Naomi Project, a group that assists at-risk-moms-to-be in Northern Virginia.  We believe we have found a good mix of indviduals and groups who travel to developing countries as part of their work and are willing to deliver blankets, as well as individuals who have local connections to people in our area who need assistance.

We are now collecting material and sewing blankets that will be delivered to the Sudan, to Honduras, and to Haiti.  We also have continuing requests from the Naomi Project.  We hope to expand our connections to shelters and churches in the region.

We will write again with updates from time to time.  This could not happen without your generous donations of leftover fabric, new fabric or blankets.

Thank you so much.

Cindy and Seema

                                        December, 2012

Dear Family and Friends,

I have decided to start a project called The Lullaby Project.  My goal is to make blankets for babies and toddlers.  I have partnered with a not for profit group called The Global Good Fund (www.global goodfund.org) which will assist in delivering baby blankets to children near and far through the programs they support.

I am writing today to ask for your help because I need fabric.   Perhaps you have scraps leftover from a blanket you were making or a Halloween custom, a dress, curtains, etc. that you would be willing to donate to this project.

The ideal size of fabric is a yard to a yard and a half (36” to 54”) but frankly I will take any washable material such as cotton, flannel, gingham, muslin, seersucker, duck, twill, or terry cloth. Good sturdy cottons and soft fabrics will be combined for each blanket. I am finding that as I am slowly getting fabric, either through purchase or from a few friends,  I have able to piece various sizes and colors together to make a cozy blanket.  To date I have completed and donated 30 blankets.

If you have any fabric to donate please send too.  I am also happy to pick up if you live in the Northern Virginia area.  Thank you for your consideration.

Cindy

Dear Family and Friends,                                                                                                                                December 13, 2013

It is hard to believe that The Lullaby Project is almost a year old.  The contributions by so many to make the Lullaby Project a success has been personally rewarding and so touching.  Words can't really express our appreciation to everyone.

To date we have made, received and distributed 323 blankets.  Here is the rundown of where all the blankets have gone.

Oversea:  Blanchard, Haiti;  Pidon, Haiti;  Gathier, Haiti;  Amritsar, India;  La Paz Honduras,;  Valle Bonito, Honduras;  Nairobi, Kenya and the South Sudan.

Metro Area:  The Naomi Project;  FISH;  Shelters in Prince William County and So Others Might Eat (SOME) housing projects.

We have had help from girls/women from 14 years old who collected material as a Civics Project to a 90 year old great grandmother who sewed 14 beaultiful blankets.  So many people have donated material and thread, sewed blankets or provided contacts and advice.  All of this is so much appreciated.

We are even more excited about this coming year.  We have set an aggressive goal of making 500 blankets by December, 2014.  We want to continue to distribute blankets equally to the USA and overseas.  We also hope to continue to expand the partnerships we have developed with the Naomi Project (Metro area), The Viriginia Hospital Brigade (Honduras) and So Others Might Eat (SOME)  (Metro area).  We have two addtional Metro area partnerships coming on board in early 2014.  In addition we are now providing blankets to Brother's Brother (a medical mission group) for their birthing packs.  We already have requests for Honduras and Tanzania.

If you have time to donate any material (remnants are fine), thread or can help us in any way, it would be very much appreciated.  We can assure you that we are doing our best to make sure the blankets are getting to children near and far.

With much love and appreciation.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday season.

                                                                                                                                             Cindy and Seema
